You are dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ. During more than 44 years as a General Authority, I have had the opportunity to travel the world over. I look forward to many more such opportunities. Throughout the journey along the pathway of life, there are casualties. Some depart from the road markers which point toward life eternal, only to discover the detour chosen ultimately leads to a dead end.
Indifference, carelessness, selfishness, and sin all take their costly toll in human lives. Change for the better can come to all. In this spirit, we again issue that heartfelt invitation: Come back. We reach out to you in the pure love of Christ and express our desire to assist you and to welcome you into full fellowship. To those who are wounded in spirit or who are struggling and fearful, we say, Let us lift you and cheer you and calm your fears.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. I would encourage members of the Church wherever they may be to show kindness and respect for all people everywhere. The world in which we live is filled with diversity. We can and should demonstrate respect toward those whose beliefs differ from ours.
May we also demonstrate kindness and love within our own families. The world can at times be a frightening place in which to live. The moral fabric of society seems to be unraveling at an alarming speed. Our youth, our precious youth, in particular, face temptations we can scarcely comprehend. The adversary and his hosts seem to be working nonstop to cause our downfall. We are waging a war with sin, my brothers and sisters, but we need not despair. It is a war we can and will win.
Our Father in Heaven has given us the tools we need in order to do so.
MORE IN LIFE
He is at the helm. We have nothing to fear. He is the God of light.
He is the God of hope. Mortality is a period of testing, a time to prove ourselves worthy to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. In order to be tested, we must sometimes face challenges and difficulties. We feel surrounded by the pain of broken hearts, the disappointment of shattered dreams, and the despair of vanished hopes. We feel abandoned, heartbroken, alone. If you find yourself in such a situation, I plead with you to turn to our Heavenly Father in faith. He will lift you and guide you.
He will not always take your afflictions from you, but He will comfort and lead you with love through whatever storm you face.
With all my heart and the fervency of my soul, I lift my voice in testimony today as a special witness and declare that God does live. He is our Redeemer; He is our Mediator with the Father. He loves us with a love we cannot fully comprehend, and because He loves us, He gave His life for us.
My gratitude to Him is beyond expression. Day Looking Tomorrow Back. Looking back, yes, I made too many comebacks. But each comeback I was percent sure that I would win. I never came back for the money, because I didn't need it. The adulation I was getting anyway in other spheres. But I'm a guy who likes to see how close he can get to the edge of the mountain - that's what makes me tick. Sugar Ray Leonard. Me Looking Money Mountain. No excuses and no sob stories. Life is full of excuses if you're looking. I have no time to gripe over misfortune.
I don't waste time looking back. Junior Seau.
Looking Back and Going Forward
Life Time You Looking. Looking back at my career, I wish I knew then what I know now I wish I had the maturity and courage to have pushed back more. I was always trying to be a 'good girl' and play by the rules. Valerie Plame. Good Girl Courage Looking. You're taught from the day you start medical school that you're a god, that you can have power over life and death. So when your life starts to crumble, and the highest power you see is looking back in the mirror - and you know that power is flawed - it is very hard to get past that.
Michael Palmer. Life Day Mirror God. I'm an incurable optimist, and I'm a great believer in never looking back. Life is too short, and new challenges are exciting. Cherie Blair. Life Looking Challenges Great. Looking back, I understand that I was teaching myself to write.
Mary Wesley. Myself Looking Understand Back. Everything happens kind of the way it's supposed to happen, and we just watch it unfold. And you can't control it. Looking back, you can't say, 'I should've Rick Rubin. You Looking Way Control. It is not possible to go forward while looking back.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Looking Go Back Forward Possible. But there's no point in looking back and saying I was unlucky. Jamie Redknapp. Looking Back Saying Unlucky. You may also realise that there are negative people in your life that weigh you down. Be brave enough to let go of these people. This is hard to do, but be courageous. You want to reinvent and renew yourself. Not because you love to boast. The reason you want to make a public statement is for accountability purposes.
The moment you make a public statement, you will be held accountable to achieve it by your friends who heard your original assertion. Making changes to your surroundings will make a difference in rejuvenation. I shared a story of how we wanted to drive employees to be more present and productive in the office. We tweaked our office environment and immediately saw results. Likewise, you need to tweak your environment to reinforce and drive the change you are championing in your life.
For further information, read one of my previous articles, Tweak The Environment. Big problems are rarely solved with complex solutions. Often, they are solved by a sequence of small solutions. Start your renewal by not trying to change everything that is wrong and needs fixing. Work on one area at a time. This may be frustrating at first as there are numerous areas to fix and it seems like it would take forever. It is amazing how closed and sheltered many of us are. Many have never experienced the complexity and diversity of life at its fullest. When you do throw yourself to accumulate experiences, you will suddenly learn how little you know about the world and about yourself.
The more you challenge yourself to accrue diverse experiences, the easier it is to change and to consistently reinvent yourself. You will also learn faster and become a far more rounded leader. Signing up for a new class or taking on a project in your office that you have no idea how to deal with would be a simple place to start if you are devoid of ideas. Each new experience will open your eyes up to amazing possibilities.
Keep diving into unfamiliar experiences. The hardest part of renewal is to destroy some of the things that helped get you to where you are.
Looking Back, Going Forward | Better By Design
You may be highly dependent on a skill or a way of managing people that helped you get to your current position. However, you may have to unlearn that skill and learn a completely different way for the next phase of your life. Rebirth happens with destruction. And it is hard to truly renew if we are still clinging to the past.

The reflection story Initially, I was highly disappointed and upset about not being able to move but as reality hit, I realised God had given me a gift of solitude and a chance to reflect on the frantic year that whizzed by. What does this mean for me? Take daily reflection breaks It is very hard to find time to reflect consistently so I suggest you start by adding reflection to your calendar.
Looking Back, Moving Forward
Ask yourself questions Questions change the world , not answers. Why am I here at this moment? Is what I do aligned with my bigger vision? Where am I going? What is my big dream for myself? How will I get there? Is doing what I am currently doing going to enable me to get there?
